Hello! Welcome to this article in which we will consider how your online business is a skyscraper in the making! As a young fellow, and even now, I’ve always loved the idea of a Skyscraper. We’d even play games at home where entire rooms would become offices with a floor number written on the door!
It’s not just the sheer glory and ascetic beauty of a sleek, towering building that gets me though. It’s the message or statement of achievement, all gained by consistent, methodical work towards the goal.
A skyscraper is a proud building and with good reason! When you plan to construct a colossal building like Al Hamra Tower or the World Trade Centre, you really are reaching for the sky!
Planning and Foundation of the Skyscraper
Your giant online business plan will need to be thought out with its glorious long-term goal in mind. Once the foundation has been made and the ground floor, you will need to build the first level or story of your business.
After that, it is a matter of repeating the process over and over again, until you are able to stand back and look up in awe and amazement at your stunning achievement! You are not just building a small gas station, a business with one level and one source of income. No! Think Big! Think really big, and think really big from the beginning!
Let’s look at some practical steps you might take to lay the foundations of your future skyscraper sized business!
Step 1: Build a Website. Start off by setting up a website based around your chosen niche. A website can be created in 30 seconds using Wealthy Affiliate. The same platform will provide you with all the training and help you need. That is why I recommend it as the #1 website building platform on the internet. Your first website can be set up for free.
A website is the cornerstone of your online business. It is where you express yourself, it is your brand, your voice to the world. It is where you share your knowledge, promote your offers in your own passionate and interesting way to your future customers.
Your website is you in a sense; it is your unique reach out to others. So make it genuine! Make it personal and energetic. Put your heart into it and don’t be boring!
Step 2: Use YouTube. You can start small with a basic video every week. Use the content on your website as inspiration and link to your site in the description as well as any products you may be promoting. That’s killing two birds with one stone! You are promoting offers as well as driving more traffic from the massive YouTube platform to your website.
YouTube is easy. It’s free. And there are so many ways to make use of it. There are ways to use it without showing your face or recording your voice. But ask yourself, why should I hide? If you want to improve other people’s lives with a business, don’t be afraid to get out there and show yourself.
One video on YouTube is going to be there for a very long time, always with the possibility of drawing in a customer for you and providing you with passive income. Imagine if that one video happened to go viral?!

Step 3: Use Email Marketing. Build an Email List! For this, I found a great little digital tool on ClickBank called 12 Minute Affiliate. It’s brilliant. It works on complete auto-pilot. It’s a system – that’s its longer name; the 12 Minute Affiliate System. As I’ve told people before, don’t buy the traffic from within the system itself though, because it’s really a bit too expensive. Instead use a site called EasyTrafficNow. This is how I build my own list.
The system will also follow up automatically using professional, prewritten emails (within 3 popular niches). See More.
Okay, we’re done! That’s really all you need to start growing that glorious, towering business! You just need to follow the training at WA, update your content fairly regularly, with a load of passion and excitement, hop on YouTube and get videos out there (maybe with the help of the software linked to above), and finally, build a massive email list that reaches the clouds using the beautiful, systematic method mentioned in Step 3!
One day you will look back on your work and see, not a small candy shop, battling to stay in business, but a tall, proud building, a place for the well-to-do, and owned by someone wealthy – a virtual Skyscraper! And that person is you!

Hi Dominic. This is very interesting analogy to compare business to skyscraper. I never thought about it in this way but its speaks to my imagination. I completely agree that foundation are most important part of every business and I’m also using wealthy affiliate to start my site. With tons of trainings, active community and webhosting it’s a great starting point for all beginners. I never thought before about email marketing, but this is interesting idea I need to test in practice. Thank you for advices!
Ah yes, it’s nice to have something to imagine, like an analogy. Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it and found some value in it for your own online business.
Great article, Dominic!
I never thought about an online business being a skyscraper, but I suppose there aren’t any building regulations around a website! It can be as big as you want it to be. And like you mentioned, you need to have a good foundation.
I also like the idea of YouTube. Not only is it free, but it’s the best way to put your real self in front of an audience. It’s also just fun to do.
Thanks for this bit of inspiration!
Isaac
Thank you for this generous comment! Yes, an analogy with something physical is sometimes a great way to look at an online business.
I hope you will go on to make a YouTube channel as well. You’re right, free and fun!
What a powerful visual tool to think of your online business as a skyscraper in the making! Great metaphor for those of us who have big dreams and aspirations! Skyscrapers certainly have many elements that go into their creation, and a strong foundation is at the core of a solid building.
The advice to use YouTube more is something to reconsider, as it seems like there is still a lot of untapped potential there!
That’s great you liked it Aly! Thank you so much for your feedback. Yes, an analogy with something physical is good I think.
I am curious about your traffic from EasyTrafficNow. How does it convert? Also, the list it gives you, are they good traffic? I mean, do they actually read your e-mails or give you any income at all? What are the pre-written emails about and what 3 popular niches are they? What if my niche is not one of them? Do I still get access to pre-written emails? Sorry for so many questions here. Thank you!
Because it’s affordable, with a good bit of traffic from easytrafficnow, you can make sales. They wouldn’t sign up and give their email if they weren’t interested at all. But usually, most of the clicks you order will turn into new subscribers. There are stats on Aweber to show you how many opened the emails and how many clicked a link in them. The three niches are MMO, Health and Fitness and Personal Development. The pre-written emails are for these niches but you can still sell other things to them, although the auto-emails are for these three niches. I hope this helps.
Hello Dominic, pleased to meet you. I’ve just gone through your article and I find it very interesting and informative too. Sometimes we want to think small yet we expect big results. I must agree with you that we need to think out of the box to achieve big things. I am glad I came across this amazing post and I will be visiting your site often to learn more about online business. Thanks for sharing.
This is great and very encouraging to hear. Thank you sir!
